Plans at Enfrastructure!
WHO: Southern California Venture Network (SCVN), a nonprofit
organization hosts monthly business exchanges to foster and accelerate
entrepreneurial ventures. SCVN is open to graduates of one of Southern
California's research universities including (USC, UCLA, LMU,
Pepperdine, etc.)
WHAT: Start-up companies are competitively selected to pitch
their business plans to an audience consisting of venture capitalists,
experienced executives, academicians, and management candidates who
provide an assessment of the company's model. This month's premiere
presenters include ReelMall, a
movie theatre marketplace designed for rapid and efficient procurement
of concessions, theatre supplies and studio content; Fusion
Technologies, developers of a wireless badge for providing tradeshow
vendors more accurate and timely information about attendees and link
to the vendor's data and CRM system and TBD. The distinguished panel of all
women venture capitalists will include Debra Sriker-Fine of E-Media Ventures, Christine
Doyle, an Associate with Allegis Capital, and Raulee
Markus, a member of the Tech
Coast Angels.
WHEN/ADMISSION/WHERE: Tuesday, August 14, 2001, 6:15 PM -
8:30 PM. Admission is $25 if prepaid before August 4th, and $35 at the
door. Attendance is free with annual membership. Presentations will be
held at Enfrastructure, located at 65 Enterprise in Aliso Viejo. Get Map details

WHY: The SCVN has become one of the region's top-tier
catalysts for invigorating entrepreneurship. It was developed to
provide entrepreneurs a forum to hone their business plans by
presenting and defending them, as well as creating opportunities with
potential investors and provide peer-to-peer networking.
HOW: SCVN membership consists of early to mid-stage
entreprenreurs, savvy investors, accomplished business professionals,
and astute academicians from diverse managemnet and financial
backgrounds dedicated to developing high-growth companies throughout
Southern California. Annual membership fees are $125; student
membership is $50. Media are free to attend.
